DPS923 notes – Thu Feb 20

Implement the ‘add item’ pattern to a nav based app.

.

Today’s topic

Recently, you learned about two important topics, navigation based apps, and the Core Data object design, management, and persistence framework.

Last week’s examples showed how to create new objects in code. Today, we will use the ‘add item’ (also known as ‘edit item’) pattern that we first saw a few weeks ago, when we studied the custom modal view topic.

.

Planned for today:

Brief discussion about the add-edit pattern

Study code sample – CD 1 (one entity)

Study code sample – CD 1 + (the plus sign means it’s capable of doing an ‘add item’ task)

Study code sample – CD 2 1-M (one-to-many, multi level navigation)

Study code sample – CD 2 1-M + (as above, capable of ‘add item’)
