Mid-course Test is on Tuesday, July 23

The BTI220 mid-course test is on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at 9:50am ET.

The Test has two parts, and you must complete both parts:

  • Part A – on-paper written answers
  • Part B – on-computer programming task

For Part A, you will write short answers to a number of questions about web client development. A reference sheet is NOT permitted for this Part A of the test.

For Part B, you will complete and submit one or more simple web client programming tasks. You can use a classroom (lab) computer, or your own computer. Reference resources, online or print, are permitted for this Part B of the test.

Both parts are worth the same number of marks. Each part is a separate document.

Part A, the on-paper written part, will be done in our standard S2170 classroom.

Do not sit directly beside another student. Leave an empty chair between you.

Part B, the on-computer programming part, will be done in our regular T2110 class/lab room.

Do not sit directly beside another student. Leave an empty chair between you. Sit at the row edges, and in the middle.

Prepare for the test

Recall that your learning goal for any course is to be able to both “explain” something and “do” something. That’s one of the principles of an applied learning course and program.

For the written part of the test, make sure you can “explain”.

For the programming part of the test, make sure that you can “do”.

Use all the resources that helped you learn the course’s content:

  • Your hand-written notes that were done during lectures
  • Course notes posted on the course web site
  • Documents on the web

You will be tested on all topics since the course began.
