About this web site
This is the web site for Prof. Peter McIntyre, of Seneca College, in Toronto, Canada. It supports my teaching activities, and is my publicly-visible communications platform.
I teach in the undergraduate (Bachelor) degree program, to second-, third-, and fourth-year students. I have two areas of interest and specialization: 1) Web apps, and 2) iOS apps. I typically teach two courses per semester in the fall and winter semesters.
The content on this web site is intended for students who have some experience programming in a C family language. Seneca students learn programming fundamentals by using the C language, and then object-oriented programming by using the C++, JavaScript, C#, and Java languages.
A typical second-year student is still in the midst of learning object-oriented programming, so some of the BTI420 coverage (on ASP.NET Web Forms apps) may be somewhat elementary for external readers. However, some of that coverage may still be useful as a review or reminder.
The option courses – DPS913 (iOS app development) and DPS907 (Web services) – are targeted to third- and fourth-year students. Therefore, most of the coverage will be useful to Seneca students and to external readers who consider themselves as entry-level or intermediate programmers in these technology areas.
I hope you find the content useful. If you would like to comment, please do so on a specific post, or use the “contact me” form.
